This is Dean Winchester’s ultimate breakfast burger from Supernatural. Sweet, spicy, sticky, and heavy in the best way. The whole thing revolves around a honey sriracha glaze that turns bacon into spicy candy and gives the beef a lacquered crust. No veggies, no filler. Just meat, cheese, bacon, and a glaze that carries everything. Ingredients FOR THE PATTY: • 500g ground beef, 80/20 • 1 tsp salt • 1/2 tsp black pepper FOR THE HONEY SRIRACHA GLAZE: • 3 tbsp honey • 1 tbsp sriracha • 1 tsp freshly grated ginger • 1/2 tsp soy sauce FOR THE BACON: • 6 slices thick-cut bacon FOR ASSEMBLY: • 2 burger buns • 4 slices aged cheddar cheese SERVING: This burger should look glossy and slightly messy. The bacon should have a sticky shine, the cheese fully melted over the patty, and the glaze lightly dripping. Serve hot, wrapped or cut in half so you can see the layers and the glaze coating everything.

Recipe

  1. 1
Start with the glaze. Mix 3 tbsp honey, 1 tbsp sriracha, 1 tsp freshly grated ginger, and 1/2 tsp soy sauce. Stir until smooth and set aside. This is what carries the whole burger, don’t skip it.
  2. 2
Cook the bacon in a pan over medium heat for 6 to 8 minutes, flipping occasionally, until crispy. Lower the heat and brush the glaze directly onto the bacon in the pan. Let it cook for another 1 to 2 minutes until it turns glossy and slightly caramelized. Set aside to rest so it firms up.
  3. 3
Divide the beef into 2 patties, about 250g each, around 1.5 cm thick. Keep them loosely formed. Salt and pepper both sides right before cooking.
  4. 4
Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 3 to 4 minutes on the first side until a deep brown crust forms.
  5. 5
Flip the patties and immediately brush the cooked side with the glaze. Add 2 slices of cheddar on each patty, cover with a lid, and cook for another 2 to 3 minutes until the cheese is fully melted and the glaze turns sticky.
  6. 6
Toast the buns cut-side down on a pan over medium heat for about 60 to 90 seconds until lightly golden.
  7. 7
Build the burger. Bottom bun, glazed patty with melted cheddar, then 3 slices of glazed bacon, then top bun. Press lightly so it holds together and serve immediately while hot and sticky.
